Dr. Mustapha Abdelouahed is a passionate educator, a serial biotech inventor and entrepreneur for nearly 22 years. Dr. Abdelouahed work focuses and covers a broad area of activities ranging from vision and strategic plans to developing healthcare, higher educational and biotechnologies projects. He holds a PhD in Cardiovascular & Pharmacology in 1997 from Pierre & Marie Curie University (Paris, France), his MS in Homeostasis, Thrombosis, Cell & Molecular Biology of Vessels in 1992 from Paris Diderot University (Paris, France), his MS in Immunology in 1991 from Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse, France), and his B.S. in Biology in 1989 from Kadi Ayyad University (Marrakech, Morocco). He has published in prestigious scientific journals and business journals. He holds several patents in a range of diverse biotech fields. He was invited as a speaker in many academic and private institutions in Boston, Canada, France and Morocco. His topics were related to biotechnology, education and transfer of know-how. Dr. Abdelouahed led many leadership responsibilities in the development and management of start-up biotech companies, healthcare and education projects with excellent skills in organization, planning and implementation. He served on many boards, coached young entrepreneurs and helped them enter venture competitions.
Dr. Abdelouahed worked for over 6 years as Research Assistant Professor at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical (BIDMC) at Harvard Medical School (Boston, Massachusetts), at Pr. Jack Lawler’s laboratory. He is co-inventor with Pr. Lawler for new diagnostics’ technology for Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia (cardiovascular disease) and is a solo-inventor for two technologies: a technology related to a new drug delivery platform applications and a new anti-cancer drug technology. As the Project Leader, Dr. Abdelouahed, with dozen Moroccans and American doctors and professors, are establishing in the city of Marrakech (Morocco) a Cluster Smart City project: a fully integrated Center of Excellence and International Graduate-Level for Science and Technology Research University and Community.
Since 2018, Dr. Abdelouahed is acting as the General Manager and co-Founder of the American Hospital and Education Partners LLC, a consulting company that provides advises and strategic direction for higher education, applied sciences – technologies and biotech to both governments as well as the private sectors in the USA, Canada, the Middle East and Morocco. Beginning of January 21, 2020, as Adjunct Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine (Boston MA), Dr. Abdelouahed will lead the Course of Genetics- Diseases for the Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences Program.
